UCC, like all Green Campus registered institutions, undergoes a full reassessment every three years. This reassessment is undertaken by a panel of experts assembled by An Taisce. UCC is happy to share its experiences with other campuses on the road to being more sustainable, in the hopes that together our impact will be strengthened.
Across UCC, in different departments and buildings, individual champions and teams have implemented projects that contribute to the overall institution-wide Green Campus. We hope to share these projects with you through a series of case studies.
We recognise that much of the work being undertaken in relation the “greening” our campus is voluntary and done alongside individuals existing day to day roles. Being green isn’t easy and so within these pages we aim to provide some guidelines for staff on improvements that can be made in their areas.
The university is a member of the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC), this is a UK and Ireland network which focuses on supporting and promoting sustainability in higher education. Membership bring numerous benefits to our campus community.
